Textile mill set up by Raja Bahadur Motilal ji Pittie, making the Pittie family Pune’s first industrialists.

Constituted as a Public Limited Company and went on to list on the Bombay Stock Exchange as one of its early members.

Leadership
Became Pune’s 2nd Largest Employer and 3rd largest Power consumer – with a daily consumption of 30 tonnes of coal, 8 tonnes of furnace oil and 50,000 units of electricity.

Self-Reliant
Navigated the textile industry’s crisis and pivoted to real estate as the company’s core business.
1961
Pioneering
First in India to introduce the concept of readymade Bedsets and Pillowcases, which were exported to the sophisticated, quality conscious markets of Scandinavia as well as Germany and Switzerland.
1965
Nation-First
Designed and manufactured in collaboration with ARDE, Hitech fin-stabilized tail pieces of the bombs which improved the accuracy of our Canberra Bombers and radar evading devices code-named Pied Piper for the Indian Air Force which were used in the 1965 War against Pakistan.
1966
Fashionable
Hosted Pune’s first fashion show by partnering with the Poona Women’s Council exclusively using cloth produced by The Mills.
1970
Detail-oriented
Designed and manufactured High Precision Internal Grinding Machine for which the Company was awarded the Silver Shield from the President of India for import substitution and Internal Grinding Spindles with an accuracy of 1 micron.
1999
Luxurious
Pune’s first true 5 Star hotel – Le Meridien came up on the property .
